Let’s start with the Varansi and Ganges Rivers. The Ganges is where people pray. Shiva is the god of death and protects the rivers. Trains are good for travel to and from the rivers.

Next is the Taj Mahal. The Shah, who was the king of
India, built this for his late wife as a monument after her 15^th child. The building was started in 1631 and took 20 years and 20,000 people to build. When the Shah died, he was put next to his wife in the Taj Mahal.

Then, there are religious ceremonies. The
Krishna is one of them. Fire is also used in ceremonies as a resemblance of god from man. Karma is what you do. Good or bad Karma is determined on what you do.

The movie talked about Old Delhi and
New Delhi. Old Delhi is the older capitol of India, and New Delhi is the present capitol of
India.

Corbit National Park is a park for wildlife. It is
India’s first national park and was created by Jim Corbit, a naturalist.

The movie had a lot of interesting information about
India.

Dear Bob,

How have you been? I am fine here now with all of the changes since Kemal Ataturk has been president of
Turkey. I’ll tell you about some of the changes.

Our new Turkish state is a republic. Kemal Ataturk changed many things to be more like the West. A new legal system was adopted. We call it the Swiss Civil Code. He also brought in the Italian Penal Code. These changes really modernized the way our country operates.

In 1933 a new education system was also established. It is more like yours. Women now have more rights and can vote in elections and hold official posts.

A big change is that we do not use the Arabic script any more. We use the Latin script instead. We even have a new Turkish alphabet.

We also have changed the clothes we wear. Women do not have to wear veils and men wear western style hats. We look more like people in your country.

You must come to
Turkey to visit me.

If I could go to any place in the world for free, it would be to
Japan. I would go there to learn about their culture and homes. It would be so amazing! The holidays must be fun in
Japan.  

Once I watched a show on Japanese food, and what they ate and how they ate it was interesting. I’d like to try it myself. 

I would really want to meet Satoshi Tajiri, the inventor of Pokemon, and find out how Nintendo began. In
Japan, Pokemon is very popular and I’d like to play the game with people my age.  

I like cars with good acceleration and handling, and I know that
Japan builds fast cars there. The cars must be awesome! I would want to know where they test cars and where cars race. I would also like to see where the cars are made in
Japan and how they build them. 

There are many cities in Japan but I would especially visit
Tokyo because there is a lot of entertainment there.
